Our ward campout is Thursday, June 20 to Saturday, June 22 at Reynold’s Creek Campground in the Tonto National Forest. Come relax and play with us at a beautiful, forested campsite with a creek. If you can’t stay the night, drive up on Friday and spend the day with us.

Campsite Info:

Reynolds Creek Group Campground, Tonto National Forest – Recreation.gov 

Description from website: The group site is located adjacent to Reynolds Creek, which runs year-round. Opportunities for wading, fishing, and hiking abound. A thick stand of Ponderosa Pine covers the group area, offering pleasant shade. A large meadow provides the perfect place for group activities and games.

There are two ramadas, eight picnic tables, a vault toilet, no running water and no cell service.

Meals Provided:

Thursday: no meals provided
Friday breakfast: muffins and fruit
Friday dinner: walking tacos (ground beef and toppings over chips) and smores
Saturday breakfast: pancakes, eggs and bacon

Important: please bring Thursday meals, Friday lunch, snacks, drinking water and food for specialized diets for your family.

Trip Option #1


Take the US-60 E and 70 miles toward Globe. 

Turn left onto AZ-188 N/Apache Trail. Go 14.7 miles 

Turn right onto AZ-288 N. Go 27.6 miles.

Campground is on the left and there is a sign for Reynold’s Creek Campground. 

If you are traveling up on Thursday, there may be a road closure on the US-60 in Superior. You might consider going the following alternate way.  

Trip option #2

Take the 87 North for 67.2 miles.

Take the exit for AZ-188 S then go 46.2 miles past Roosevelt Lake.

Turn left on AZ-288 N and go 27.6 miles.

Campground is on the left and there is a sign for Reynold’s Creek Campground. 

This route takes 2 hr and 45 minutes.

Whether or not there is a road closure on the 60 will not be known beforehand. You will need to check http://az511.gov for real-time traffic info. This applies to people traveling on Thursday only, as this construction project is scheduled to only occur on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
